My husband is Active duty navy and we are getting stationed in Fallon, NV. I still need to finish college so we were thinknig about living in Reno since it's a bigger area and has the college and then my hubby would commute to Fallon for work.

How long of a drive would that be for him?
What's Reno like? Anything to do besdies gamle? Average rent? We'd prefer to find a single-family home for rent seeing as we have two dogs..

I have seen the city web sites for both places, but am looking for some personal info from you all!

Go to www.Craigslist.com, select Nevada and Reno/Tahoe. You can check out housing prices - they're not too horrible.

I live in Las Vegas, but I have friends in Reno - they wouldn't live anywhere else. Its a beautiful area, close to the ski resorts and Lake Tahoe (some of the most beautiful scenery in the U.S.), and is just a nice city in general. Lots of nice outdoor activities. Lots of surprisingly good restaurants. I think you'll really like it.
