We work hard to get good makrs so that we know how hard work feels.
That way on the job you won't quit after the boss sets a due date of next week.
Unless you slacked off completly in school, then you won't know the value of hard work.

You will be judged by the marks you get. When you begin applying for jobs and don't have much work experience on your resume, employers will look at your marks, and those applications with the best marks will rise to the top of the pile and make it to the interview. When you get to the interview, you will be successful more on your own merits, but the marks will still be considered.

Good marks show that you were willing to put in the effort. If your marks are poor, people often think that is a reflection of you, and the amount of effort you would be willing to put in to a job. Even though that may not be really fair in all cases, it is the reality of life.

Best of luck.

I agree with pokedude, it teaches us the value of hard work. Secondly, you don't know if it is not at all related with your profession, as you don't know what twists and turns your professional (and personal life) will take. That said, it's now how many marks you get, but what you actually learn (these two are not necessarily the same) that matters, and will get you ahead. I have done extremely well, and extremely badly in my exams. My good marks have not helped me, and my bad marks have not held me back in my professional life. Rather, it has been my attitude that has helped me on the job. As long as you pass with fairly decent marks, and are able to communicate fairly fluently in English (it should be your thinking language), you will not have to worry.

Change your attitude. There are many more and wonderful things in life. Train urself to enjoy it. Studies is not the only goal of life. A good number of people have succeeded who were either average students or even without a formal education.
