Variety is not THE spice of life; it is A spice of life. In this modern society, variety is nothing but a concept which has been overrated and in most cases misinterpreted.
Life is not all about variety, but rather it is about self fulfillment and the satisfaction that one can give to another’s life. Life goes beyond uniqueness and standing out from the crowd. It is about living a meaningful life full of depth and sincerity.
Is a life really worth living when it only revolves around being different? I do not think this is all there is to life. It can’t just be variety that’s keeping you alive, awake, and full of interest of what life is about to spring at you next.
Its hope, faith, love or what ever else is motivating you to pursue your life. I know for sure though that it’s not variety.

Hypothetically, to grasp my drift we can think that Life is like a bowl of spaghetti bolognaise. There’s the spaghetti, and then there’s the bolognaise. And variety? That could be the pepper that we put into the spaghetti for more flavoring. So what makes up this bowl of spaghetti? Because if you think about it, the pepper only makes up that teensy weensy bit.
So our answer to the most frequently asked philosophical question lies with in the pasta and the bolognaise.
If we take a step back and view the question in another perspective, the thing that adds flavour to life is said to be variety. However, if there was no repetition, life would be perpetually impulsive and meaningless. For instance if school was at totally random hours, it wouldn’t be interesting, it would be annoying!

In simple terms, variety is merely a spice, a very common one like pepper. So, as a spice, it can be replaced. We just haven’t recognized that alternative yet. And what makes it even harder is that society has molded its youth in each generation into believing that variety is the only path.
I believe that Variety is a narrow perception that sadly, many people obliviously follow. The yearning of variety is totally unnecessary; there is much variety in the world already. Anymore variety would just result in chaos.
Many of you will think that I’m digging a “social hole” by putting forth such controversial claims. But by its very essence, variety is really just an optional extra, not necessary to fully enjoy life anyway!
My school is trying to teach me that variety is the spice of life. Frankly I beg to differ because without conformity there would be no spice to shake onto this meal we call life!
...What do you think? Is variety the spice of life?
