well we don't have much time for elaborate preparation now. as for the unprepared chapters give importance to the concepts which have come in the previous years. But take note:
whatever happens , YOU will have to give your full concentration at exam time. Try to pick each and every SINGLE MARK you can get. 2-3 hours you have to sit for the exam. this is a time you will be free from family problems. FIGHT. 100 percent concentration at exam time. each and every single mark . ATTEMPT as much as possible. do not lose heart. hey , we dont mind indian team losing a match , but if they have to lose , then they have to fight like lions and then lose! this time do the BEST YOU CAN. and next time onwards be prepared in advance. but think about the next time ONLY AFTER this exam.
GOOD LUCK.
After additional details: anyway you are writing it. take it as a game where the cards are dealt to you. yuo play it the best you can and enjoy giving a TOUGH try. what bad marks? if bad marks come , let it be. but not because you did not try.

Either allow yourself to get bad grades or review the question at the end of the chapters and see if you know the answers and look them up. It's easier and quicker than reading all the chapters. The questions are usually the most important facts in the chapters.

Think you are blaming it on family problem. If you want to study no one can stop you from doing so.Instead of logging on pack your books and go to your close friends house work out on probable sums that might be comig.Go through previous question papers and you might get some clue about the proable question and its type.Concentrate on it.Its JUST 5 chapters.Thats all.Go through previous question papers and definitely you will know the trend.Take a chance and go through probable questions in 5 chapters.Good luck.

Your brain retains the most information if you study an hour before you go to bed and an hour before your test. I know things can be rough when there are family problems, unless they are your own, try to concentrate on your studies. Leave the major problems to your parents. Easier said than done but you can do it. Good luck on your math test.

Relax. Take the test, do your best, then have a chat with the instructor. Maybe they will let you do some extra credit work to make up for the poor test score.
