For a headache you can put vinegar on a cloth and lay it on your forehead (any kind of vinegar except balsamic !!)
Bumps and bruises - ice
Stomach or back ache - a hot water bottle
Make a tea with sage, let it go cold and then gargle with it for a sore throat
Dried lavender under your pillow to help you sleep
Mint tea for indigestion
Honey for a facial
Garlic to ward off colds
etc etc

If I have a headache, I get a bottle of lavender oil and put some on my wrists and behind my ears and have a really deep sniff in the bottle. Nearly always stops it.
