... others keep posting the same answer over and over? I've seen this happen where no 2nd answer was posted for several minutes after the 1st -- so the copycats HAD to see the 1st answer.
Is this in hopes that the asker will randomly give the 4th answerer the points or what?

I think it's all a matter of timing... sometimes, I've been the first to answer and by the time I type out my answer and post it, there are four or five other answers that are the same.
