No, its not

While many, including me, would argue that Irans leader is nuts, he's not stupid.

IF he gets nuclear weapons, he KNOWS he cannot use them first.

The answer is the U.S., G.B, etc. nuke Iran. Why, because its clearthat if it is used on israel it will eventually be used on them.

So, Irans president knows that, not only will he die, but Iran will cease to exist.

While SOME muslims believe it is necessary to kill all unbelievers, they also know this does no good, if all muslims are killed also.

Its the threat of mutually assured annihalation.

If Israel uses one first, they know that they will lose all support, including U.S. support, unless they have a damn good reason. Without intrnational suppoert, Israel would not survive very long, epecially as the U.S. and others would stop selling them arms. The only reason good enough is if one is used against them first (or an attempt to is made). As this wont happen for the above reasons, Israel will not use one.

So, while a nuclear war in the mideast is possible, it is VERY unlikely.

Now, that being said, if a true madman who doesnt care what the consequences are ever does get one, this could change. But I do not think that anyone who is truly in power right now would do it (and not sure if oe could get into power).

HIGHLY UNLIKELY because the Islamic World is never united as a force of any kind; is militarily weak dependent on the West for advanced weapons systems; and politically fractious. There is no need for the West to go nuclear in the MidEast.

1. No MidEast country except Israel has nuclear weapons (Israel neither denies or confirm it's open secret)
2. Little/zero chance Iran-Syria engage Israel with conventional high-density wars
3. No MidEast country has the capability to launch any conventional war on any Western country
4. US non-nuclear bombs-missiles can destroy Iran's underground nuke facilities
5. Islamic countries do not have a military pact/organisation; US-Europe has NATO with nuke capability

I presume we're talking about an attack with a nuclear weapon, in the Middle East and one nation and everyone is afraid of at this point to develop a major weapon is Iran, if they do their target as they have told everyone would be Israel. Israel to no one's surprise has nuclear weapons and the means to deliver them, if Israel feels threatened with a nuclear weapon from Iran they would attack first and it would be devastating. And it is what all of the major nations fear i.e. France, United States, Great Britain, Russia, China, Japan, and India.

In my opinion, no. The wars going on now, are not new for the most part. I don't even "see" a conventional WW3 in the near future. Besides, Bush leaves office soon :)

Israel has nukes, and if Iran gets them, I predict a cold war. Iran's leader is crazy on many things, but he seems too intelligent to want to doom his entire people. He just wants to have nukes as a bargaining chip more than anything.

No. Oil rich countries can not justify a civilian neuclear program. Their false sense of pride does not go far. But U.S.A. should offer a viable Palestine.
