I used to have horrible menstrual cramps before I had my first child. Try a heating pad, or hot water bottle on your tummy. Red raspberry leaf tea also helps. You can get this at the health food store. Any pain reliever that has an anti inflammatory agent such as advil or motrin will help also. You might ask your doctor for a prescription for anaprox or naproxin, which has been prescribed for menstrual cramps.

the first thing i did to alleviate the nasty cramps i had was to change my diet, no that won't help you today but it will pay off in the future. i had to cut out all the crappy stuff i love and still give into when it's my turn to cycle.

the other thing was exercise. don't ask me why, but both of those things combined have changed my cycle from something that used to put me in bed for two days straight - to it sneaking up on me and me having to run to a bathroom to catch it before it makes a mess, ya know what i mean.

in the meantime, try some peppermint tea, heating pad, and Alleve the pain killer. but not to many of them, i od'd once on them while on my period.

also if you haven't already talk to your gyno about it, could have some endometriosis or something like that going on.

Magnesium Amino Acid Chelate 100 mg every 2 hours till you subside.

also
dong quai
chaste berry
black cohosh
(these _can_ be found together in one supplement)
flax oil 3 times a day - don't worry about fat, it won't affect your fat.

avoid:
eggs
meat
dairy
vegetable oils from omega 6 - have olive & flax only
these will kick up your AA - arachadonic acid which stimulates excess estrogen.

use spices, especially calming ones like ginger.
