is there any way that i can fix a dent by myself? my car got hit by a shopping cart today and it left a huge dent in the area above where my front tire is, and another tiny one a foot away from it. i cant really go and fix it from the back because there's something in the way, and i really don't want to even know how much this is gonna cost me to go to a repair shop. the dent isn't very deep, but it's about the size of a palm.

i was feeling around in the area and i felt some screws that keep the outside metal screwed to the rest of the car (sorry if that doesn't make sense). i'm pretty sure i'd be able to take it off, but i don't know if that's a good idea.

i tried to use a plunger, and i don't think i want to use one of those suctions where i have to poke a hole in my car...so...

Try the local auto parts store for a dent puller that uses the hot glue to melt a plug to the dent, then you can pop out the dent usind a spring loaded tool. There are also companies that will remove the dent for you, without having to paint, Check the local yellow pages.

for the small spot try a piece of dry ice, make sure you wear gloves, the bigger one if it is round enough, can sometimes be popped out with a windhsield plunger or small toilet plunger, the windshield has more suction though and can be bought cheap from Most Ace hardware stores, or Harborfreight stores.

Go back to the store and tell them (the manger of the store) what there shopping car did, they have insurance to cover for the damage. talk to them nice and they will fix that for you.
They will put a cart next to yours to see if the impact level is the one and if that is the case your problem is solve.I hope this will help you .
