It's not the ultimate goal, but it is one of the goals along the way. It's one of the main processes in a treatment that can last for years. After a person brings the unconscious to the surface, it is then analyzed and interpreted. After that, a patient has a deeper understanding of their interactions.

Not the goal but mostly psychoanalysis does that.
