false...those are delusions. Others here have already described hallucinations so I'm not going to repeat them..they've already done an excellent job.

false, hallucinations may be caused by many factors and situations producing sights, sounds, smells, etc. that may or may not be perceptible to others. they can be of real things, or fantasy. if a hallucination is common to an area, due to physical properties, then it is part of the reality of that area, and not a distortion. reality being relative to perception.

No. Hallucinations are auditory, visual, and less frequently olfactory (smell) and tactile (touch) in nature. The person who experiences them does so when those around him/her do not experience the same phenomenon. It's more than a cognition (thought or belief)- it's a true experience through one of the senses listed above.

Hallucination is perception by our sense organ without presence of any source of stimilus. Its a fantasy and not reality. On the other hand illusion is misperception of one stimulus as another.
