I am a RN and am interested in working in a part time career from home. I am not interested in selling stuff. And was looking at something more health related since I am familiar with this field. I found lots of information about medical transcriptionist working from home and was wondering if anyone knew any info about how hard the transition would be to work at home in this field from a RN to a medical transcriptionist. I have sent a couple e-mails to the businesses, but was just curious to hear other opinions.

RN licensure is completely seperate from the transcriptionist. I know RNs who do this type of work to have a better schedule with their families. Having a knowledge base of medical terms etc can certainly help. Good luck.

Yes, it is possible and moreover you have the additional benefit of knowing terminology that a transcriptionist might fumble on. I often used the word 'pooched' meaning the the edges of a wound were puckered together...my nurse knew what I meant...corrected my word...and we turned out word perfect narrative summaries.

GEE YOU WOULD MAKE MORE MONEY BEING AN RN BUT YOU WANT TO WORK PART TIME FROM HOME YOU WOULD PROBABLY BE GOOD AT IT SINCE YOU KNOW AND UNDERSTAND MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY
