Chicago has some of the best shopping in the world.

Go to The Magnificent Mile on Michigan Ave
Also check out the fancy and pricey boutiques on Oak Street, also right off of Michigan Ave.
Then after that, wealthy areas like Oakbrook and Northbrook have nice malls.
The big mall by the way (there are many, this is the most famous) is Water Tower Place on Michigan Ave, and there are several other big malls on the Ave, plus many individual stores, furriers and specialty shops.
Bring lots of money, you will need it.

The HIP is Harlem-Irving Plaza, located on the corner of Harlem Ave and Irving Park Rd in the village of Norridge, just off Chicago's Northwest Side. It's been a long time since I passed by there, but it looked as if it has been under renovation.

HIP is an acronym for the name of a mall on the northwest (not sure) side of Chicago. I can't remember the name of it right now, but I hear it's not all it's cracked up to be.

I haven't been there since 1979. But it's a good description downtown, The Loop! The bad winter weather keeps stores Hotels & movies 'snug' up against each other & the busy 'L' Trains & plenty of racket!
