Why isn' Fruits Basket coming out with another season? I liked it, and I thought it was really popular! Can anyone help me out?

There could be many reasons to this:
1. the company who produced the anime doesn't have enough money.
2. the manga artist choses not to
3. the first season (of furuba) was somewhat unpopular in Japan
4. I heard that one of the people who did the voice of one of characters retired.

I suppose a second season of the series won't be produced anymore.
Cause the anime series was the shortened version of the story of the manga series, and had the different way of ending up.
maybe the secret of Sohma family and Akito...
The manga series is still being published in Japan, and the final stage is coming now.

Another reason I heard for the rumored second season never getting made was the fact that in the first season they messed up on one of the character's genders (I'm not telling, ya gotta read the manga if you don't know already)

actually they didn't "mess up" the gender of that character they intentionally did that bcuz they had no intentions of coming out with another season of fruits basket. from wut i've read here maybe they will now but it'll be hard bcuz they took alot out of the anime so its kinda different from the manga. btw i signed a petition to get them to make a second season ^^ but sadly i lost the website but look for it and sign!!

I am not sure about another season, but I saw some news in the internet and there might be another season coming out. It says that they wana have another season but by the time it comes out, the fans might lose interest. I also hope there is another season! ^.^

Fruits Basket is anime!
In Japan, the way they do their shows is different than the way
it is done in America. My favorite anime now made is
CINDERELLA BOY, the Monkey Punch one, but that only went
13 episodes. Hope that helps.

It was supposed to be a sort of "mini-series," which are typically 26 episodes long. READ THE MANGA. Trust me. It's better, and so much more informative.

Natsuki Takaya did not like the way the directer did the show...Yuki's hair for example...it is supposed to silver....I think Natsuki just didnt like the directer personally

No, the anime ends at 26. V___V yet on the superb facet, the manga is going on to end it! this is extremely large too. I hate that the anime ended...... *tear* upload me on your contacts! :P wish that helped some.
