Well I just got a hdtv and i hooked my computer up to it. Everything looks great but the mouse and keyboard are wired. I want a wireless mouse and keyboard but the probem is that the usbs on my computer don't work. I have a usb to mouse converter so I can connect them to the actual ports. The question I have is can a wireless version of a mouse and keyboard work through the same way?

Wow thanks for your help guys. I get the general idea that it is possible but I should double check the products I buy. I will double check my usbs but as far as I know the usbs are recognized but it simply does not work. I believe they were fried. It rarely happens I hear but i will hope and double check. I just got the set up and I am entirely pleased with it. Took a bit of money but it also feels like a small price to pay for luxuery. My tv is a Samsung hl-l s5687w 56in hdtv. Check it out because its a great tv.

They most certainly can! I have the setup at home, and it works fine. You can just plug it in and use it...but it is reccommended that you install the software that will come with the wireless keyboard/mouse as you will then have more features that will help you manage your wireless mouse/keyboard and see information about it such as battery life and signal power. Also, most keyboard shortcuts will require to you install the software for them to work.

But to answer you general question, yes it works, just perfectly fine.

Well, it depends on your wireless mouse and keyboard. I have a wireless keyboard and mouse that connect through the actual ports and not the USB. It would also depend on the model if it could work with that converter with USB. You can also buy a PCI USB Card for your computer, these ports would work.

You can buy a wireless mouse and keyboard. The reciever hooks into your mouse and keyboard ports. If your USB ports don't work, then your wireless keyboard and mouse won't work when plugged into them.

Wal-Mart sell a keyboard and Mouse that will work on both. It uses the round mouse connector and has a USB adapter for using in USB if you prefer.
