Well, pretty much what it said. At the base of my neck, a little bubble like mass has formed. It feels as if it is attached to a vein somehow. It can move under the skin if i touch it, and it hurts alittle, but not much. Also, just below the hair line towards the back of my neck is a larger, more solid mass and its very sore some times. What could this be?? Its starting to worry me.

Possibly a tumor! Go to your doctor immediately and have it checked out. My aunt had the same problem and it all started with that bubble on her neck! I hope that I'm wrong, but get it check out for sure!! Don't wait another minute or it can get very serious!!! Tumor or tumour literally means "swelling", and is sometimes still used with that meaning. Tumor meaning swelling is one of the five classical characteristics of inflammation. However, the term is now primarily used to denote abnormal growth of tissue. This growth can be either malignant or benign. It is similar in meaning to a neoplasia.

Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tumor for more info on tumors.

Most likely lymph nodes. Especially if you've been sick lately. If you're not sick they can be as large as a kidney bean and even larger if you're sick. Being sick will also make them tender. If you have a cold, don't worry, they're just doing their job which is producing lymph, or white bood cells to fight off the infection. It would definately be a good idea to get them checked out by a doctor if you're concerned. You know your body best and what is normal or not. God Bless

It could be one of many different things. It needs to be checked. The easiest and quite accurate test would be Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) whereby putting the injection needle, small amount of material is aspirated and checked under microscope. We do it a lot and I find it quite useful and accurate. It really does not give much pain other than injection needle pain and does not involve cutting etc but it brings out nice biposy material.

The only thing I can think of is a tumor or a blood clot. It sounds scary. Maybe you should see a doctor?

See a doctor ASAP. Don't stress about it because that makes it worse. Just think about how it could just be nothing.

it does sound like a cyst, or, perhaps, a boil. see a doctor, or look for a free clinic, in your town, if money is short.

You need to see a doctor. It could be mononucleosis, an abscess, or even cancer, so if it doesn't go away go to the doctor.
