The Revolutionary War was all about establishing a democracy. The French Revolution was too, really, but in a different way.

I would say that the USA is a pretty good example. After all, military action played a big role in our independance from England.

How soon we forget, remember germany and japan? It wasn't overnight, but they're one of the biggest and strongest democratic allies. I guess there's more to the saying "what have you done for me lately?"
