For all of the questions that I have answered, for women who are wondering when someone will give them a baby shower... It's nice to see someone actually say that they are hosting one! Good for you - to show your love for your sister!
Commonly, baby showers are done around the 7th month. This is a good time for many reasons.
You will want to wait until after the major ultrasound. This is usually done around 20 weeks or so (5 months). She might be saying that she doesn't want to know the gender beforehand, but I've heard of way too many women changing their mind at the ultrasound. I actually applaud women for wanting to know - people can buy all the whites, yellows, and greens...but every mom will be grabbing either pink or blue after the baby's born. Also, ultrasounds will check the baby's health. Many women don't like to make a formal announcement, until this is done. Also, if there wasn't an ultrasound done in the OB's office beforehand - multiple babies may be found!
Not to mention - at the shower, mom needs a belly to show off! Otherwise, people will wonder who the pregnant one is.
Oh yeah - and after the 7th month, many babies are born early. Yes, 40 weeks is 10 months, but many babies are born 32-36 weeks. Having a baby shower at 7 months of pregnancy is the best time - still gives mom a little time to see what else she might need and continue to prepare for baby's arrival.

Any time I would think...except you might want to wait until she passes her first trimester...especially if this is her first baby. Most first time pregnancies ends up with miscarriages. So this is why I said wait until she passes her first trimester. If she is the kind that needs to know plans...then you might want to tell her you want to give her a baby shower...also keep in mind, Her sister(s) or her mother may want to be the FIRST ones to host the baby shower....then you would have to get in touch with them...so you don't plan the same dates... don't worry, there can never be too many baby showers!!! After all, they would be more blessed with more things they need!! :) I wish I could be doing this...it is soooo much fun to host a baby shower!!! Have fun!!

Usually between 30-38 weeks gestation. This is far enough along that most in-utero problems have been avoided, the sex of the baby is known (if the parents wanted to know), and yet still (hopefully) far enough away from the due date that you won't be driving the mommy to the hospital at her shower. It also gives the parents-to-be enough time to be able to put away/wash/set up all the new stuff they'll get before the baby arrives.

frequently between 6-7 months. it rather is a few distance adequate that the being pregnant is unquestionably-customary, and not too some distance alongside which you're in all danger to be uncomfortable the entire time, or to pass over it considering which you're having the toddler. My cousin in basic terms had her bathe right this moment at 37 weeks pg and replaced into in labour the entire day.

Wait until its obvious you are pregnant! But wait until the first trimester is over so that you know everything is n full go. And it helps to knw the sex of the baby. Also leave time you get the things you need that you don't get at the shower. You will also need time to get everything organized and put away. But don't wait until you are way big and uncomfotable. hope this helps

well it would seem like a better time would be when you know what the sex of your child is. But most showers I have been to, as well as ours was about a month before hand. some women go for 6 weeks so they are to big and uncomfortable... hope this helps. :)

I would wait till the 7-8 month. You can still lose the baby that late in the game due to spontaneous abortion. I lost mine at 5 months

Personally I dont think it is appropriate to have a baby shower untill after the baby is born.
Give mum 2 -4 weeks after and then throw a shower. This way everyone gets to meet baby, mum can tell you things that she needs, you know the sex of the baby... things to that nature.
