I'm 22 years old, I like realistic dramas. I enjoy books that have great sceneries... if that makes sense. Any suggestions??? Thanks!!

Someone before me suggested RL Stine, but I would not suggest Stine for a 22 year old who likes realistic dramas. Stine's intended audience (at least for all except for one of his works) is 5th to 6th graders, and his novels are anything but realistic.

Lately I have been reading Brad Meltzer...he writes legal thrillers...if you are into that kind of stuff. Also...you mention setting... John Grisham has a couple of good books set in the south...he does a pretty good job of describing the setting. Also Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil is a wonderful book...great description of life in Savannah, Georgia.

I am an AVID reader...you can e-mail me if you'd like...tell me what you like to read, and I can most likely make a suggestion or two.

p.s. Harlen Corban (I'm not totally sure about the spelling) suggested by someone else is GREAT!

I know it's a fantasy, not realistic, but how about The Fellowship of the Ring, by J.R.R. Tolkein? That has a very strong sense of place - The Shire, Rivendell, and Lothlorien are all places I as a reader did NOT want to leave! :) Absolutely gorgeous places to be.

I just finished reading the Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. It was kind of a fantasy novel about Dracula without being a typical fantasy novel. It takes plave in Cold War Europe and has layers and layers of historical investigation going into the actual history of Vlad the Impaler. It sites actual documents and visits multiple (actual) European cities and locations that are described in rich, vivid detail.

Read books written by the Indian author R.K.Narayan. They'll show you some great scenery.
Or read Rear Window by Cornell Woolrich (blue murder stories).

Well if your willing to try a more "romantic approach" then try Mary Lynn Baxter and some V.C. Andrews
