Both are good, but consider this: teens are even into U2 right now. Unfortunately, the same can't be said about the stones. Both bands span generations of fans, but U2 has a wider audience.

When comparing musicians I try not to say that one is better than the other. For example I really liked U-2's first album and some of the old Stone's classics are hard to beat. In some cases it would best be described as an evolution of a band. A good comparison would be your own life. Tiger Woods doesn't play perfect golf all of the time and band members sometimes take chances or play what the audience doesn't want. Which really doesn't make it good or bad. I think it is very important that we consider experimentation when we try to judge overall talent. Today wasn't like yesterday and tomorrow will be much different from today.

I find both are great bands in their own way. U2 is more techno present type of music and layed back pop band at least to me. and the stones are a classick rock band. i personally love mick and the stones so id have to go with them.

I like both,but have to pick The Rolling Stones my first concert in 1974. Plus I owe everything they put out on vinyl import & US and CD.
