I cannot stand to have glasses on my face, but I also cant stand to have anything in my eye or stuck in my eye. Will I be able to put in a contact lense? Should I practice sticking my finger in my eye? How long does it take to adjust to putting contacts in?

Please don't stick your finger in your eye, lol. You can only feel contacts when they're dirty. You might be able to feel them when you first put them in, but it only takes a few minutes to get used to them. I've been wearing them since I was 12 and I'm 24 now.

You just look up toward the ceiling when you put them in and don't have to worry about that 'poking yourself in the eye' feeling. Practice putting them in and taking them out when you get them and you will get the hang of it quickly I only use one hand to do it now. I pull my lower lid down with my middle finger and put the contact in with my index finger.

You can get a trial pair of contacts from your opthalmologist/optometrist. That way you can practice putting them in and out and also see if you dislike the sensation of wearing them. Good luck and enjoy the freedom of contacts. I love mine! You can see clearly all the way to your peripheral vision, it's great!

I wear contacts, b/c I can't stand having anything on my face either. It didn't take me long to get used to putting contacts in, just a few days, maybe a week. Don't practice by sticking your finger in your eye! That's really unpleasant b/c your finger is dry and it sucks moisture from your eye. Actually putting a real contacts in isnt' as bad as people think, the contact is wet, so there's little discomfort. If you go to your eyedoctor, perhaps they'll give you a trial pair of contacts in your prescription so you can try them out and see how you like it.

I love contacts. Once you learn to put contacts in, i reccomend the night and day lenses. you leave them in for a month and never take them out until that months up. That might be the best option because you don't have to go poking in your eye daily. I'm one of those people that never has problems with my contacts though. Give them a try, the eye doctor will help you learn. It takes about 5 mins to get the hang of it. you know the saying Practice makes perfect

I've worn soft contacts for over 20 years. Once you try them, you will realize how much your vision improves. Because the lens covers your entire pupil I wear disposable contacts and they are about 15-20 dollars for 6-8 weeks worth. The solution I use is about 7 dollars a bottle and lasts for about 4 weeks.

I believe you should try it out. don't worry about sticking a finger in your eye. It really isn't like that. I can't feel the contacts 95% of the time. Of course sometimes they get irritated.
good luck.

The best way to discover whether or not you can tolerate contact lenses is to ask your provider to set you up with a pair of trial lenses in the office. If you can wear contacts, they are a great way to reduce the progressive deterioration of your vision. If you cannot, then make sure you get light-weight or feather-weight lenses.

it took me a week to put on contacts easily. I didn't like getting things in my eyes either, but i didn't want to wear glasses either. When you get your contacts your optometrist teaches you how to put them on and you usually dont leave until you do get them on. It would take me hours to get them on the first few days, but now im an expert and i could put them on with one hand without a mirror.
They're not that bad. it doesnt feel like anything, unless you have extreme dry eye, like i do, my eyes just feel tired. Anyways, always wash your hands and try not to get soap or lotion on them because it will sting like hell! Also make sure you clean them well, cause it sucks when you have a piece of lint on there.

Oh yea, they DONT go in the back of your eye also.

If you are committed to wanting to wear contacts, they are easy to get used to for most everyone. The eye doctor will instruct you in how to insert them.

Do not stick your finger in your eye.

Putting on contacts does not hurt but it is a different feeling at first. Soon you will not even remember that you have them on.

I have been wearing them for many, many years and never had a problem.

Contacts. Definately contacts. No, it's not hard to put it in the eye once you get used to it. I have it had it for years, and I love it.
(and no, don't practice by sticking your finger in your eye... that's just stupid)

You can get used to it. I don't' like contacts for the fact that you have to remove so often and you have to have supplies at all times. With glasses, you just put them on and take them off whenever and wherever you want to.

Contacts once you get used to them, it's like there's nothing there. I would definatly do contacts, also a adavantage is glasses donit fully cover your eye so when you look down you actually have to move your head, contacts you will never have to that.
