It bothers me that the media only has chubby/fat guys (eg. King of Queens, Jack Black etc.) deemed 'sexy' and desirable and going out/married to skinny pretty girls, but I NEVER see this with chubby/fat girls being 'sexy' with skinny/handsome guys? Are men really that shallow? They should have more 'real' women in the media in my opinion.

I actually read a Yahoo! article recently that was describing how bigger men are "in style" now. Jack Black and Kevin James were actually two of the men cited, in addition to Joaquin Phoenix.
Apparently Hollywood is no longer expecting perfectly fit men, whereas the expectations for women are becoming more unattainable by the minute. :-P

They avoid putting ANY chubby/fat girls on tv, with very few exceptions. The only time they show an overweight woman is if the fat is necessary to the role and "funny". They don't seem to care so much what a guy looks like, except that he must have good hair. Baldness in men is on a par with chubbiness in women in the tv world.

Because if it is shallow & stupid & has a fat slob who does his
table work, and getting a Dolly Parton chick in the process,
welcome to the new American dream. Don't just dump it up on
men, chick, if you really want to change what's going on,
vote with your pocketbook instead of tolerate the garbage
American TV/Movies pushes on people.
And---fat slobs like Roseanne & Rosie O'Donnell make me
want to up****k my lunch.

Excellent point. It's true.... according to TV producers, every woman must be a size 2.... have big honkers... & wear tight clothes.
Ever notice that shows such as Friends, Seinfeld, etc... never had fat women?
It's sad... but it is the way it is.
May be some day hollywood will change, but I doubt it.

to piss off women everywhere. believe me, i wanna see some Ryan Reynolds on King of Queens... that show would be great. they do it because men are more shallow than women and would not watch a movie because its starring a fat chick. girls dont do that as much

The movies are fantasy, they have nothing to do with reality.
If they put reality in the movies no one would go and watch
them.
Going to the movies is an escape from reality for a lot of
