You only use powder if the parents use powder - do not use anything on the baby that is not in the diaper bag - allergies! And I only wipe when the child poops but some parents want their child wiped every time you change the diaper. You really should write your questions down and ask the parents their preference - this will not make you look stupid just prepared for their child!@

Use diaper wipes everytime you change him, make sure when you close the diaper that there is only enough room for you finger between the belly and diaper snuggly. If you put the diaper on too tight, you will have an unhappy uncomfortable baby. If it is too loose not only will you have to change the diaper sooner you will have to change his clothes too (my husband is notorious for this). And ask the parents about using baby powder. I always had it available to me but the pediatrician said I didn't need it and that you have to be careful not to get the poweder dust in the babys face. Also you may need to ask about rash pastes too because rashes do happen.

I wipe every time...poop or not. I look at it this way...if I peed my pants 7 or 8 times a day, eventually I'd feel sort of nasty and want to be wiped off.
Don't use powder...ever. If you're not careful with it, the baby can aspirate it and irritate her lungs. It can also get up her nose or in her eyes and irritate them, too.

nicely, after 2 childrens and a grand finished of in elementary terms 4.5 years of my childrens diapers i began doing daycare for 2 3 hundred and sixty 5 days olds. After that I on no account felt sorry for a mom with 2 or 3 in diapers. I had 17!!! I replaced a minimun of 34 diapers an afternoon for over a 300 and sixty 5 days! So I style of have been given 21.5 years of diapers in basically 5.5 years!

If I were you I would ask the babies parents on the techniques the parents use. Babies tend to like routines and they get mad if dont follow them. As far as the powder doctors say you are not supposed to use powder because it can get in to the babys lungs and cause for some trouble. Good luck baby sitting.

ask his parents about the powder - if they say to use it poor directly in his diaper as to not get it in his lungs, use a paper towel if he pees , wipes for poop- make sure to have a new diaper in posistion before removing the old one so you do not get sprayed - the best place to change him is probably on a blanket on the floor so you do not have to worry about him falling - good luck

Wipe everytime. Keep him clean. You can use powder, but don't use too much. Just enough to keep his little crevices dry. Unless the baby has a rash. If he has any kind of rash don't use powder. Use a baby rash ointment. You will be okay. Just keep him clean.

Wipe him everytime. You needn't powder him at every change, a thin layer of diaper cream will be helpful.
