because they're ignorant jerks and are easily swayed by the bandwagon propaganda that goes on in the media.

I do not hate you for being an illegal immigrant, but I do not think that it is fair that you are here illegally. I have no problem with you living in the U.S. through legal means, but it is an injustice when illegals are allowed to reside in the US and basically enjoy not paying taxes, virtual immunity, and being able to have access to free health care, while those of us that live here legally have to pay.
It's not you the person that I hate, it's the lackadaisical method that our government combats illegal immigrants. It takes an understanding, thoguhtful person to distinguish between the two. I do however understand why you would post such a question because there are many hateful people on this site that would bash you for that very reason. I have never met you, and you have not done anything specifically wrong to me, but your methods of being here is what I despise. I feel that it is unfair to those that reside here legally.

We don't hate you, we hate what you have done. You say you haven't dont anything to anyone. Yet you claim to be illegal. That in and of itself tells us that you have broken our laws by coming into our country illegally. If you are willing to break that law, then there is the possibility that you would be willing to break other laws, simply for your own perceived betterment. If you are working then there is the possibility that you have taken a job that could have been taken by a LEGAL citizen. There is also the possibility that your presence has forced the INS to delay the acceptance of a LEGAL citizenship to another person from a country far worse than your own.
I could go on and on, but I doubt it will matter much. Just do us all a favor and go back to where you came from.

Some people hate, not all. Your experience is unfortunate. As an American, I deeply regret it, and if it is appropriate or meaningful to offer an apology, I would like to offer one here. There are generally only two or three categorical reasons people "hate" illegal immigrants. Ususally however they are afraid (of losing a job or being a victim of crime). It is the poor, who are on the margins of social survival already, who are most likely to be hateful. A poor woman may want a position as a maid or a waitress, and find that another (ethnic) woman(Hispanic? "Illegal"?) got the job. This is scary to them when they don't see many job opportunities, and all the jobs are low paying.

I don't hate you! I am totally against people being defined as "illegal" in this country. I know our gov't has it's reasons, but I think as long as people don't get arrested or cause problems, they shouldn't get deported. I don't know, I could go on for hours about this subject. But to answer your question, with all this war & crazy stuff we have going on, it's hard for people to trust other ethnicities right now. That is my theory. However, some people are just mean. I hope you don't steriotype America & think everyone is like that, because we're not. :-)

I don't hate you but illegal immigration isn't right. It is ILLEGAL after all. Just come through legally and most people (except for hardcore racists) won't be complaining. When it comes to illegal immigration, its opponents do not hate the people who illegally immigrate, but their actions.

i don't think people hate you.... people just don't want to make it ok to be an illegal alien... borders and immigration laws are there for a reason... and with this "statute of limitations" thing they're doing where allowing people who ILLEGALLY entered this country to get to stay... it's just not fair.... especially to all the people who followed the laws to enter this country.

If you watch only one conspiracy documentary ever, make it this one. This just might be the best introductory video out there. Understand that every claim made in this is fact, not opinion, no matter how wild it sounds. It's all easily verifiable through mainstream news archives and public documents.
