The other night I closed my bedroom door (and it was closed all the way!) and it opened back up...by it self! Was it a ghost, maybe of a pet or a family member?

Difficult one, this. The other night something similar happened to me (my husband slept through it all!)

Around 4 a.m. there was a loud creaking noise, which I immediately identified as one of our three wardrobe doors - two of which are always left half open for one our cats - moving a few inches. My first, panicky thought was, "It's a ghost!". Then I thought to check for puss's whereabouts and she was in the wardrobe compartment behind the other door, the one that hadn't creaked.

So: either she'd moved really quickly from one to the other, or something she'd done by moving around in the one wardrobe compartment had caused the door of the one furthest away from it to open a few inches. Or, it was a ghost.

I still can't decide!! But my father in law died a few months ago and since then we have had a few inexplicable events. And I am predisposed to believe in ghosts any way; I want to think that when we die there's something after. I have difficulty with organised religion (baptized C of E but have never been a regular church-goer) as there seems so much guilt involved in it.

I hope you manage to resolve this one. If it is a ghost I don't think you need be afraid of it, from the very many books I have read they are very, very rarely malevolent.

Good luck!

Check the catch on the door and lock set. It may be out of alignment and houses sway and sag a bit with age. Any amount of tape, paper, etc. that gums up the works in the set will keep it from closing properly. Either way, you can fix it by putting a doorstop in front of it. I have never encountered a ghost interested in what was in my closet!

Personally, I don't believe in ghosts, so I would say it was just a very strong wind that pushed your door back open, or you just thought you closed it all the way, but u actually didn't.

Ghost! Do not doubt even yourself!By the way, do you believe in them? I am absolutely sure that they really exist. Do not be afraid of them though, I have ( I am not pulling your leg) really personally met a ghost myself and it did not even talk to, let alone hurt, me in the slightest bit. Actually, some ghosts are quite shy! P.S Are you as fascinated in ghosts as me?

if it is a ghost more than likely weird things will be a somewhat common occurrence around the house.. but id say its more than likely u didnt close the door all the way... but still ahha ive had light bulbs thrown from their sockets and items from the house tossed out a window.. XD

Was the door latched completely??? when opened does the door swing easily or do you physically have to move it????? It could of been a ghost but if the door moves easily or wasn't latched completely it could of also been a draft.

The wind. Ghosts do not exist. Read what your Bible has to say about ghosts.
