No, and I have my reasons:

• I'm Christian, and the bible clearly states that "thou shall not kill".
• Death is the easy way out, I think a life time sentence is a lot harsher than death.
• It is not for humans to decide who lives and dies, we should leave the judging to God.
• No matter the offense everyone deserves a second chance. I'm not saying the person deserves to get out of jail, I'm say the person deserves a chance to come to some kind of conclusion of his sentence.

In my opinion - no, there's too much ambiguity. If it turns out a person hasn't actually committed the crime, how can you compensate them if they're dead. I live in Australia, and a few years back there was a case (you may know it - about the woman who claimed her baby wa eaten by a dingo) where the mother was charged with murder and later was found to be innocent. If we had the death penalty, an innocent person would have died.

Another issue is that death is the easy way out. Why let someone go than makie them suffer in solitude for the rest of their life to think about what they've done (that's quite nasty actually!)

I find it interesting that in the US, people from different states have such vastly different opinions. For instance, if you ask someone from Texas, they're likely to agree with the death penalty because of their laws. I'm living proof I guess, because we don't have the death penalty and I don't agree with it.

Except in exteremely rare circumstances, I do not agree with the death penalty. I find it quite hypocritical. Also, in a lot of cases, a lot of people put to death were actually innocent.

Take this for example, imagine a man gets charged for murder. He then gets put to death. Now, the state is doing no better than the man, because they are murdering the man who comitted the murder. Does this make the state right? In a case like this, there is no way that the death penalty can be justified.

Having been raised in Michigan, whose state constitution forbids the death penalty, I actually support the death penalty in certain instances. These are: Treason, Espionage and crimes against humanity.

I agree in the sense that if we keep convicts in prison our tax money keeps them living better than people who have never done a bad deed in their entire lives.
And I disagree because for some its the easy way out of the abuse they get when in prison from other inmates...especially if they were child molestors are rapists!
I know I must sound crude and my attempts at feeling compassion for the guilty unless they were completely mentally deranged is a hard thing to do!

Yes I do if someone takes an innocent life I believe that in some circumstances they should be put to death themselves.

Yes, because there are some people the world just needs to be rid of. If it can be proved "without a shadow of a doubt" that somebody murdered, sexually assaulted, committed espionage, planned acts of terrorism, they need to die.

Yes I do agree. There are some lives (read people) who are not repentive... and do not realize the gravity of their actions. such people do not deserve to be living in this world.
