I really love acting. I live in a small town, and I really dont know how to get discovered. I dream about the big time, and I want to become an actress. Anyong have tips about getting found?

You must work at it. Work, work , work.
You should be in as many plays as you can get in, travel when you get the opportunity, and build your portfolio.
When there is an audition that you can make, go to it and do all you can to get the part, always trying to get a bigger part with more challenges than you have had before. Even if you don't get the big part, use what you do get for your portfolio and if you're still interested when you're older, this might happen for you.
If not, you'll have the portfolio in order to get an acting job in the city of your choice. Then you have a better chance of being discovered, or auditioning for a part in a movie. Then get in as many movies as possible and so on.

If you want to be famous, eat rice cakes, admire yourself in the mirror, and try out for a reality show. If you really want to act, join a theatre group. Take an acting class. Read plays!!! Check out books on Michael Chekhov, Sanford Meisner, Jerzy Grotowski, Stanislavski, Stella Adler, Uta Hagen... Acting is about making art and not about being famous. Most people don't get to the "big time" but it doesn't matter because they love what they're doing. Oh, and people don't get discovered... they throw themselves in front of the speeding train known as the Theatre, TV and Film Industry and the train either stops to pick them up or it runs them over without remorse.
You're going to need to get some experience and that means auditioning for shows... Check out MonologueSearch.com for some good audition material. Monologue Search is an online community dedicated to discussing the process of tossing one's self in front of trains and living to tell the tale!

First of all, be in as many local plays as you can. School musicals as well. Then join a talent agency. I also live in a small town, but many big people have come out of it. The Clarks were from around here, and so was the guy from even stevens, the blonde didn't live too far from me.

Don't sell yourself cheap! You can go around to different cities doing small things the more ground the better your resume looks. If your worked in New york and Cali how does that sound, you see my point. it's about exposure and your resume. Plus you cant look like a call girl, if you do things that will hurt your image then don't do it. even playboy wont take you if you have done porn! So think about it and play it right!

me too but you can act at school and go to collage so you can learn everything about acting then move to a big city.... yes a city .and go to every audition you can , you will be sure to find something like that of you go by that but i know there are otherr ways you have to be where the scouts are.

Fly to LA with your life savings and have sex with every producer in Tinseltown. Then, you will be the next Angelina Jolie or Julia Roberts! Good luck.

well i guess we have something in common..i also dreamed of stardome..but im a nurse now but still pursuing..for you..i guess you just have to go and search for all the contest and clubs where you can have a stepping start..endorse yourself into acting workshops..be aggressive..

Move to LA or NY city and audtion for as much as possible. You need to put yourself out there, sell yourself to everyone.

Try acting in local theater productions. sometimes, talent agents scout them for actors for bigger shows.
