I run an after school care program and keep having to come up with interesting art and craft ideas. Does anyone know anything that can be done with the scoops from boxes of laundry powder? I have LOTS!!!!

...Buy bath oil beads, bath crystals, tiny soaps, etc, and pick up tiny sample perfume
tubes at any dept. store. Place 1 or 2 bath oil beads, one small soap,
and perfume sample in the scoop, and sprinkle with crystals. Wrap with a
piece of cellophane (colored makes it prettier), and tie with a ribbon
around the handle. Makes a nice, small gift for a random occasion, and is
a REALLY good craft project for kids around Mother's Day

OR

A fun way to recycle those plastic laundry scoops.
This project is rated VERY EASY to do.

What You Need

Stapler
Laundry plastic soap scoop
6" Plastic lanyard (Rexlace)
Large bead

How To Make It

Wash and dry the laundry scoop.
Tie one end of the lanyard to the bead.
Staple the other end to the cup end of the scoop.
Hold on to the handle and swing the bead back and forth trying to get it to land inside the cup.

(just things i found online...)

One spring, we made "flower carts": there are several ways, but basically, we glued milk carton lids on the sides of the scoop part for "wheels" and planted seeds in them. The kids painted them on the outside (4 year olds-preschool) another group of older kids used markers to draw designs on the outside.

Some soil and a seed, get the kids to water them, and grow there very own plant.
Otherwise they can be used for storing beads, buttons etc.

~~let the kids use them in the sand box, they make great little shovels

you can also use them for holding tempra paints for finger painting

also are good for holding macaroni, for art projects

or for putting a bit of glue in them for the kids to dip into for art projects~~
