Step outside of yourself and ask yourself how you'd feel if you were in your friend's shoes. Its time to stop obsessing and move on. Try to view this girl as a potential friend and not a potential girlfriend or else you might end up losing both of them forever.
If your friend and the girl break up then you might get a second chance, but put that thought out of your mind and put yourself back on the market to meet another nice girl.

oooh i have done that too dude...
You kinda feel happy for your friend, but the same time, you hate him...
I have done that... By not telling your friend you like her... And then he comes along one day and dates her.... ouch...
anyways...
my advice is just to tell him that "YOU did like her...."
But don't be too akward about it, or else your friend will get mad... Just be cool about it and secure you wont "touch" his girl or anything like that...
cuz in that way, you two will become better friends... and also... if it doesn't work and your friend gets pissed....
Then maybe he isn't a true friend after all....
It has worked to me...
But remember... "There are plenty of fishes throughout the sea"

completely understandable. You've probably admired this girl for a long while, and what's suprising is that your "friend" went out with her... maybe you should've let him know how you felt about her before they went out...which I'm sure you are kicking yourself in the face for that now, but don't beat yourself up about it. Maybe things won't work out, maybe things will... the best thing you could do for your friend, is to let him know you are there for him, and that you support him. What's more important your guy pal or this girl? your choice. Good Luck!

i'm sorry to say this and sound mean but I think it is too late and she is now off limits because your friend has already done whatever you are thinking of doing to her if you date her and also if you date her after your friend and her broke up it will look like she broke up with him for you and it isn't worth losing a friend for wondering what could've been so move on and she might have not been your type anyways

You should have let the girl know how you liked her a long time ago. But you didn't so keep it to yourself. If they break up then tell the girl or if you don't tell her forget you even know her.

don't say a word, speak to another friend (who doesn't know the friend with the girl) if you really need to talk about it. You'll do yourself a big disservice if you say something, because you could loose your friend...And it's not worth it.

A real friend is worth so much more than a potential partner, so leave it alone.

Don't say anything about it. Keep everything to yourself saying something will just cause drama.
