If you are registered and had booked ticket through irctc, then you can check it at following url -
www.irctc.co.in
However, irctc now allows to check pnr status of only those tickets that are booked by the user. For all other pnr check, go to the following url -

Go to http://www.indianrail.gov.in/rajdhani.html
Then click, trains between imp stns, select the desired source & destination stns;
then select the reqd train, date & class
click the Availability
then wait a while & see the resvn, status
