What is your opinion about people who don't enjoy playing around with little childen(at a toddler age)?

I am just curious about what you think. What do you think about people who dislike playing with little children like toddlers or not excited to meet other toddlers?

I don't dislike kids, but I don't want any of my own either.

Toddlers are cute, but they are also LOUD, messy, demanding, and obnoxious....now don't get me wrong, I'm fully aware that it is normal for them to act like that, but some people just aren't very fond of that combination.

Me personally, whenever I see a toddler crying in a store, I always try to smile at them....it shuts them up almost every time.

I not entirely sure what you mean. Are you talking about Adults playing with little children or other toddlers meeting and playing with other toddlers?
To answer, many adults do not like to have little children around as they see them as a nuisance, loud noisy, interrupting and generally infringing on their time and space. Fair enough, not all people are kiddy people.
As for children meeting other children, this can be an awkward experience, especially if they are an only child. There will be a lot of sizing up the other child before any interaction is made. the first interaction may not always be positive as they may vie for the same toy to play with or they will be shy. Who knows, children are funny little things......personally i think the more the merrier!

i am one of those ,dont like kids until they can speak or make tea .
i get nervous with babies and toddlers .,find them smelly ,noisy and fragile
hate holding them .they should be in a nursery with a nanny.

but i grew up in England .maybe that had some thing to do with it .
my dad was the same .didnt really talk to us untill we were 5

on the other hand i spend a lot of my time talking to kids between 10 and upwards ,all levels of the local schools come here ,and i talk about the environment or whatever .and i treat everybody with equal respect whether they are 9 or 90.mas o menas

babies.. I hate babies.. I dont understand why people want to meet or play with babies.. its not like the baby can do anything really and parents who expect to have people oogle their baby are warped in the mind...

now - toddlers - ok at least they can do SOME stuff... but really why would you be excited to meet a toddler?? its not like they are gonna be able to hold an intelligent confersation with you... and why would you want to play with somebodies kid?? that is their job as parents..

people shouldnt have kids then wonder why the rest of the world doesnt drop what its doing to look at their kids

the world is plenty over populated as it is.. its not like babies or toddlers are a rarity any more....

little kids - ok now we are getting somewhere they at least have potential...

There is nothing wrong with that alot of people are not into the whole baby boom happening right now. That might change later in life it might not, as long as your not rude or mean to the children you are around and not trying to have any yourself dont worry about it.

I think that they are self centered and don't really care about the toddler.or they don't know what its like to be a parent and have no interest in having kids of there own.

i just think everyone is different. i have 2 children and love talking to and being around my friends children.
but my sister has never has children and doesnt ever want any...so she is the total opposite-she feels uncomfortable around children.

I know what you mean I have a cousin like that. I think it's wierd but who knows maybe these kind of people arent kid people

I think it is just fine. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I just don't understand why they are on the parenting forums!?
