By taking a look at all the UN resolutions against Israel, which have not been complied with by Israel as well as the number of Vetoes by the US against these resolutions, one cannot be optimistic that there will be any consequences for Israel.

Unfortunately, they will get away with it as they have with so many other issues and Hezbollah / Lebanon will be the blamed one way or another.

Has the UN or the International community done anything about Israeli use of banned weapons in Lebanon & Palestine? No and they won't. Just imagine if it was the other way around... big time breaking news coverage about the savagry of the "bad Arabs" and International anger the Arabs!

Take for example the murder of Rafik El Hariri, when the US blames Syria, an international investigation was "carried out", it was breaking news and we read and heard about it almost everyday, accusations against Syria, until investigative information about Israeli involvement started to leak, then it was over. No more news of this.

The UN is in violation of its own resolution 1559 by not disarming Hezbollah immediately. It was under those terms that Israel agreed to the cease fire and naturally Kofi annan weasled out of the whole thing. Why waste time and money putting people there to watch Hezbollah rearm?? Israel is defending itself and should tell the world to bug off.

Of course there should be consequences for Israel, but there won't be, because, as far as the U.N. is concerned, Israel is as above the law as it's controller/puppet master the United States. Every time I see Olmert or Bush going on about "terrorists" I want to f'ing puke because Israel and the United States are the biggest g'ddamn terrorists in the world!!!! The U.N. consequences should be a war crimes tribunal, with those found guilty to be summarily executed, but like THAT'S going to happen...

There is no consequences for Israel because they are not going to give a rat's *** what Kofi Annan says. This also includes their sponsor the USA.

!{¤©¤}! ok iran is giving weapons to hezbullah, if that is worng

Then Usa shouldnt be giving free nukes and weapons to israel... and if they really want to help israel defend send your own frkin troops to help israel, by giving weapons ti israel your tripping the \power.., because israel is as deadly has the terroist !

SO USA should stoop sending bombs with our tax money and maybe help counties in africa or maybe even them self!

Us has the right o give israel nuclear power and free weapons... then ahy doesnt IRAN?

And they violated a rule... so, The USA should warn them for that.
if U.N cant do anythign

Israel is an apartheid state, whose survival relies upon on its ability to: a) bully its acquaintances into terrorized submission and b) convince its people who no person is bodily enhanced than them (in any different case they might all bypass returned to Europe and usa the place maximum of them come from in the 1st place) Hezbollah are a democratically elected Lebanese political occasion that got here into existence via armed resistance to the Israeli profession of Southern Lebanon in the 80s. They have been born with the aid of violence (resisting profession), and their impression is magnified of their ability to coach no longer in basic terms Lebanon, however the finished Arab international, that they are able to status as much as the Israeli thug state that colonizes what's meant to be Palestine and nonetheless occupies Syrian and Lebanese territory (Golan and Shebah). upload to this cocktail a top-wing superpower that frustrates maximum UN efforts to attempt and impose any form of sanity (that should bypass against Israeli hobbies) in this doomed area of the international ...... and voila ...... you have the Lebanese-Israeli conflict.

the un only works if people listen to them. they have no power or army so if someone (like lebanon) decides not to listen to them (res.1429, i think) they have way of enforcing the resolution unless the rest of the world also agrees.which they rarely do.
besides there will be no consequences because of the veto the us holds on the security council
