Years ago if a woman entered a church she covered her head and a man removed his hat. Do you know why.

because back in the day a(married) woman was supposed to be represented by her husband. They weren't supposed to talk in a church. An unmarried woman who showed her face was considered to be a temptation to men.
men took of there hats to be less casual per say and respectful and attentive to god
