I moved to Paulding County, GA from Fayette County, GA in June. I need to file my divorce and do not want to wait 6 months. I have been a resident of Georgia for years, so I met the Georgia residency requirements, but was told I also have to be a 6 month resident of whatever county I am filing in. Is this true? The divorce is to be uncontested and completely mutual. No lawyers needed.

It is the county where you and your ex use to live. Example, we lived in Broward county in FL and I moved to Miami, but had to go to the Broward county courts to finalize my divorce papers.
