When my daughter was younger, we started collecting box turtles off the highway. At one time, we had nearly 30 turtles. We have a large area in our backyard for the turtles. As she got older, she lost interest in the turtles. I released all the turtles 3 years ago, but shortly after that, I found 2 more turtles in the area where we kept them. I have found several hatchlings since the release 3 years ago and currently have 5 young turtles. These turtles are tame and are used to being cared for. I'm afraid they won't survive being released back to nature. I don't recommend anyone keeping box turtles. We've had many hatchlings and it's so sad when they don't make it. Leave the turtles in the woods - they are territorial and need at least 5 acres to live on. And that is why I am Turtle Lady.

kristeena911... my mom named me, i love my name and the spelling of it... 9-11 is my birthday.

on aims its teenamowse. a tribute to my parents. mom called me teena, dad called me mowse. they are both gone now so it seemed fitting to have a name dedicated to both of them in my own little strange way.
