Go to the store and get yourself measured for free by the sales clerk. Then tell her how you would like your breasts to look. The same, bigger, smaller, perkier, etc... She can help you find the styles in your size that will fit your needs. Try as many different styles on as possible. Then buy the one(s) you like. They should fit comfortably, no pinching or binding. Underwire shouldn't dig into you. The band should be level all the way around, not riding up in the back higher than the front. If anything doesn't feel right, get the woman to help adjust the bra straps and/or the back. You may have the hooks too tight, or the straps too short. You might feel uncomfortable with this, but she's got the same equipment you do, and it's her job to help costumers find the perfect bra.

You should have at least 7 when you are done. Throw out old bras, if you have any. Make sure you can wear the new bras under your clothing without any bumps (like bows) that will show against your clothes. They may be cuter, but it's not cute to have a lumpy shirt over your chest, looks like there is something wrong with your body. Get plenty of nudes and tans. They show less under light colored clothing. One or two colors you like are fine, but you can be limited with the tops that you can wear them with. Even a white bra can stand out under a shirt.

If you aren't sure, stay away from more expensive stores, like Victoria's Secret. You shouldn't be paying over $30 for new bras until you are sure of what styles you like. You can get good bras at department stores for inexpensive. Stay away from discount stores, Wal-Mart, K Mart, Target, TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Ross, etc...they don't have people there to measure you.

Do not make the mistake of measuring round the peak of the bust, as most women do.
Instead, take the all round measurement from just below your bust. That's your numerical measurement.

For cup size, you need to try it on. Your bust should sit nicely into the cup, and not being enveloped in it or spilling out.

The back strap should fit smugly, and there should not be more than a 2 finger space between your shoulder and and the vertical strap.

I'm just recalling as much as I can from Oprah's show. I hope that helps.

Well seeing that I'm a bra fitting expert at my job, I would say that as long as the cups cover your breasts without your boobs falling over the top of the bra you should be ok. I like push-up bras myself because of the maximum cleavage you get. If your boobs are bigger than you would like you could get a minimizer bra and have your breasts look one cup size smaller. Not knowing your bra size makes it harder to answer your question. I hope this helps. If not e-mail me at makeup596@yahoo.com so we can discuss your situation further. Please include your bra size in your e-mail.

Go to the department store. Usually someone at women's wear can assist you with that. My wife got help with a sports bra and found just what she needed. They expect questions like that so don't be shy in asking.

I went to my local department store and had the sales clerk in the lingerie department take my measurements. They do this free of charge and you should do this at least once a year because our bodies change with age and weight. Good luck!

I like the lacey underwire type.
Measure around where the bra strap goes.
Next, measure how far out ,in inches, the roundness of your breast protrudes from your chest.
1" = A
2" = B
& so on.
