First offender act?
Are you in Ol'Blighty?
Here in U.S.A first offense is liable to cause judge to cut you some slack.
Can't throw everybody in prison .....yet.

It means you might not get as much time being it was your first offense. An attorney normally knows how much time a person is going to get by the charge against them
