i'm 40 and he's 17.I don't believe i ever done anything that would cause him to like me I known him ever since he was born and i love him as if he's my own son.His parents,my husband and me all get along great. There's many girls his age that his mother says calls him yet he seems to only care about me.This was first brought to my attention by my husband and his dad who had noticed when i hadn't. After they mentioned it i started to see how he was acting also. Like opening the door and always comming over, nothing wrong with it he's a really nice kid always wanting to help out. Just when he ask me to go with him and his friends to the movies or the beach, things that teenagers do with each other don't seem right, but maybe i am mistaken maybe it's just a phase i don't know if anyone has ever been in this situation and could give advice would be greatly appreciated. I don't want him to fall in love or something and get hurt or ruin the relationship we do have. I'm not sure what to do though

Go for it, grandma. You entitled. There is a Chinese proverb something to the effect of, "If you have an opportunity for sex, and turn it down, you are a cursed fool."

Gee, I remember when my daughter used to bring her friends home and one day she told me that her friends cousin told her, he thought I was great and that he was in love with me. I was shocked and thought it was a joke at first. He kept coming to our place with his cousin, and when the others were listening to music and talking he would always come over and talk to me, until one day I realized that he was feeling more so I thought I had better "nip it in the bud" before it got out of control. I listened to him talk about how he liked older women, and then he started telling me, how he felt about me. So I thought its about time I had a private talk with this young fellow. It didnt matter what I said to him about being old enough to be his mother, etc etc, he always had an answer. So I just told him straight, that I was flattered for the attention, but there was NO way any relationship was going to happen between him and I, and I would appreciate him not making comments to my daughter about what a "cool" mum she had. He was very hurt at first, but I guess in the long run, he got over it, because he stopped coming over with the cousin and my daughter told me later that he had found himself a nice young lady .So I guess what I am saying to you is, maybe have a talk with him privately, or get your husband to show his affection to you infront of this young man, so as to deter him. You need to do it soon before allsorts of dramas start, like him coming between your husband and yourself., rumours starting etc etc. Good Luck.
Ps.... when this happen to me, I was a single parent, you are lucky to have a husband to help you through this situation.

okay just tell him when he is flirting with you or whatever that you are very uncomforitable with him likeing you and that he can find a beautiful girl his own age, just let him know that you are to old for him or just stop going around him for a little while or try and get him together with a girl and see how things work out between them okay

It sounds like puppy love. But as the adult, you have to keep things strictly impersonal.
