find a textbook on Zoology. The best text out now, in my opinion, is "Integrated Principles of Zoology" by Larson, Hickman, Roberts & Courtis (ISBN 0073101745)... it's a 2005 release and is VERY comprehensive (almost 900 pgs). I think you'd get all you need to know right there.
