I liked the parts that had people in them. I reread the opening chapters over and over as a child. I was absolutely fascinated that "Island of the Blue Dolphins" was about a real person. I wanted to know more about Karina's life after she was rescued and what happened to her people.

But, I was completely bored by the middle section. Maybe I'd appreciate it more today.

"Sing Down the Moon" I remember thinking had a better cover than a story. I liked "My Name is Not Angelica" the best out of Scott O'Dell's books, I think.

My 6th grade teacher loved it so much that she would read it to the class. She would spend every Friday afternoon after recess. It was a good story, but I hated the fact that the teacher demanded that we liked it because she liked it. Ever since then I never wanted to read that book ever.

I really loved that book. I read it when I was pretty young but it has stayed with me into adulthood. I don't think I read "Sing Down the Moon."
