Start the school off right beginning with a new and improved attitude! You have to be there so why fight it? Go to all your classes, make new friends and / or introduce your current friends to those new ones you make. Don't make a statement by dressing 'stupid' etc ... fit in! Believe me ... years from now you will want to 'relive' your high school years so make the most of them now. Get involved ... regardless of what your friends may say or think of you. Do what YOU want to do. Be a Leader, not a Follower! Best of Luck to You.

It will help to see a counselor -- you must also be willing to listen to the advice that your counselor gives. Act like the people around you who *aren't* getting in trouble. And if someone says something mean to you, just ignore it. Your counselor can help you figure out how to deal with those kinds of issues. Don't confront your problems by using physical violence, because you know that's wrong! Instead, use your mind. How can you solve the issue without resolving to hurt someone? Talk it out. Come to terms with the other person. Be a good kid.

Mind your own business. If someone make you their business, ignore them. Focus on school, sit in the front of the class, pay attention to the teacher, make eye contact and take notes. Do your homework assignments during your study hall or right away after school. If you do not understand, ask for help. No question is a dumb question. Turn your assignments in promptly. Good luck to you!

set some goals unrelated to your fights and focus on them. even if they're small, like getting a good grade in a difficult subject or improving in a sport, concentrate on them as much as possible. get really involved in school and your hobbies (if you don't have hobbies, get some!) and just remember that nothing is worth fighting (physically) over. It won't make you look tough or cool and there are always calm ways to solve problems with people- like just not letting the bad people get to you. Hope I helped, & hope you do well in school this year.
