It should have involved a body count in the tens of thousands within the first month. Insurgents, terrorists, and those harboring terrorists and insurgents. The civilians who provide food, shelter, and resources for the terrorists are just as guilty, and as longs as the terrorists and insurgents won't fight like men and they hide behind civilians, there will be civilian deaths. We need to disband the UN, or at least kick them out of the US, because all they can do is ask people to stop, they have no real power what so ever, and their "security force" is mostly American soldiers in the first place.

There should have been an all out invasion of the Middle East. I am not trying to lump all Muslims and Arabs into one group, but the truth is, nearly all of our national security threats originate in the Middle East. Of course a few countries are our allies, and we would leave them alone.

Our government should have also had the CIA, NSA, and Special Forces scouring the globe for potential threats and killing them. None of this trial and get read your rights crap. Two in the chest, one in the head and be done with it. Scare the crap out of the world, not because we are mean and imperialistic, but because we need to make a statement that another attack will most defiantly incur many more deaths and an even more forceful response.

We should not be messing with Iraq, we should have attacked, found all the leaders, killed them, and went home. Its not our job to bring peace to the world. Leave that to greenpeace, providing the French military does not kill more, as they have every right to do (thanks France.)

It seems that you are concerned about the future..9/11 was a tragedy...but I think it was staged....think about it...why planes? it would've been easier to get a dirty bomb(back then) and really destroy half of new york...this tactics of war are use as an excuse to go to battle...and by the way...they were extensively used back in the 80's in central America to provoke and infuriate the people against each other......

There response should NOT have been "let's attack Iraq." Amazing that Saudi's did that attack, yet we don't attack Saudi Arabia. We're dealing for oil with terrorists.

Buried our heads in the sand, find Muslims to hug, and beg all terrorists for mercy and forgiveness asking them to please please not hurt us again. Then give them billions of dollars and tell them we surrender, and will do anything they want us to do.

Oh wait...I thought you asked what should the US's response to 9/11 have been if Al Gore was President...sorry! My bad!
