Abstinence is the only 100% protection:) But yes, anything can happen, but it's unlikely with the protection (first time has nothing to do with it-- I think condoms are over 90% effective when used properly, the pill about 98%). Good for you for taking precautions. Go on the pill (if you haven't already) if you're going to stay active and use condoms too. Also, most women ovulate just about a three-day period once a month and it has to be right around that to get pregnant. But of course you don't have a sure way of knowing when that is and you could ovulate anytime (though it's usually halfway between your periods).

Yes you can, women have even got pregnant after having their tubes tied. The odds might be low, but it is possible. I will tell you the same thing I told my daughter, if you really feel you are ready to have sex and don't want to get pregnant, then use two forms of birth control. Birth control pills and a condom. This will help protect you from an unwanted pregnancy as well as from std's.

The only contraceptive that is truly 100% guaranteed is sterilization, so yes, it is possible to get pregnant if you are using protection. However, the odds may be very very low, depending on the method you are using. It is always safer to use at least two methods at the same time (for example a contraceptive pill & a condom).

The fact that it is your first time is irrelevent. The fact that you are using protection may reduce the odds BUT if you do not use the protection properly, that won't help. You need to realize that every time you have sex, you could get pregnant (to say nothing of picking up sexually transmitted diseases). No form of birth control is 100%. Condoms can break. Women get pregant who are on the pill. If you are not ready to deal with all of the possible consequences of having sex, WAIT. Sex belongs in a mature, commited relationship between adults. Please don't play with fire. You are not ready.

Who knows the odds- how fertile are u, how well does his sperm swim?? Basically, u can get pregnant the first time, second time, yada yada yada. Certain types of protection have specific failure rates. The best bet is using two methods at the same time- birth control pills for u and condoms for him.
If this is too inconvient for the both of u, imagine having a baby waking up every hour of the night with stinky diapers.

well condoms are like 99.9% safe, and the odds that you'll get pregnant your first time are exactly the same as your 20th or 500th time. Just because you're a virgin the first time you have sex makes no difference at all. But with protection you should be fine.

Its more possible to get pregnant by not using a condom or/and BC the first time than Using Protection (condom or/and BC) the first time. Always use protection, if you don't you will most liking get a bun in the oven.

yes you can. you can get pregnant anytime you are having sex, even with protection. heck, even with sterilization in some cases. The pill, when used properly, has a pretty good success rate, about 99%. condoms are more like 85%. I'd get on the pill first if i were you.

Yes anything is possible. Condoms and birth control generally offer the same level of protection. I believe it is approximatley 98%. But I did concieve my daughter while taking birth control and continued to take it for two months while pregnant. Its just one of those crazy things: Nothing is guaranteed!

Yes you can. The probability of it happening on your first time and with protection is still high but not as high if you didn't use protection.
