Today I was in Tijuana....and I walked by a guy with a fruit cart which had large cups full of fruit....some of the cups were filled with fruit that lookd like Kiwi's with their skin cut off....but no it was Cactus....I bought it and REALLY enjoyed it. It was filled with seeds thoughout the fruit but were kinda like popcorn seeds so I chewed on them....anyways...what is this green catus fruit called?????and where can I get it in America??

Where can I find this fruit in America???? How can I get it???

Those are the fruit of the prickly pear cactus, known as "tunas." In Mexico, you often find vendors selling them in plastic bags on street corners. They are becoming more common in the US, especially at markets that cater toward immigrant communities from Mexico. Larger chain stores such as Tops, Giant Eagle, Stop and Shop, etc., will often have a basket of them in their specialty fruit areas. It's the fruit of the prickly pear cactus, and I agree that it's delicious. You can get it in the southwestern states, and through specialty food retailers. I'm sorry that I don't know the names of any.

Girl.. it is called.. TUNA.. It is so refreshing..with a taste I can't compare.. There is green, yellow, white and kind of reddish.. You can find them in any Mexican market... But they have to be in season.... Yummy Now you got me craving it...
