I choose who to add to my account and I do so selectively. People who add friends for the sake of seeing how many people they can get to add is childish. That was not the intentions that myspace had when they created it.
There are to many weird people out there not to be selective.
That is almost as bad as having your correct and full name as a sign on for yahoo. Or giving strangers your phone number and address.
