Do you think that the possability exists that good ole Uncle Sam is really an evil bastard, who has been using such outlets as the media, television, newspapers, internet, etc. to brainwash Americans into being ignorant morons? Or is it that America is just so egotistical that they cannot admit thier faults, and thus fall behind the rest of the world in intellegence.

Now before I recieve "bullshit" answers, like "you're an anti-American," let me make it perfectly clear that I am a citizen of this wonderful dictatorship of ours. I am a caucasion, I am not of Arab decent, and most of all I am not a terrorist.

Generally we will go along with what we see on TV. Like when the terrorists attack, we call them cowards even though we are the ones that get cowardly when we think that a terrorist is nearby.

I recall not too long ago when everyone was in Home Depot buying up all of the plastic sheeting and duct tape. They didnt know what it was for or why they needed it but as soon as the report hit the airwaves there was a run on duct tape.

Also when the guy with the sniper rifle was terrorizing folks around the Washington DC area, they told us to be afraid of anyone in a white van. At the time I owned a white van and people were running every time I would drive up. Even people who knew me for years and KNEW that I was not a terrorist of any sort all of a sudden didnt want anything to do with me because I had a white van. They were very afraid of me. Why? Because the media brainwashed them into believing it without any real sensible basis for being afraid.

Whats you definition of an ignorant american? Mine is someone who smiles blissfully as terrorists blow up our buildings. People are savy enough to know that the media skews the news this way or that. But atleast we have the freedom to view and add in put as we see fit.

You should move to North Korea. Everyone there has to wear a badge with the "Great leaders" picture. They have spies everywhere that will report you for saying anything bad about the country. They have speakers in every house that pipes propaganda in on a regular basis. Tampering with the speakers is crime. If you speak your mind you will be areseted and interrogated. It is a sealed and secrative regime. People only know what the govenment tell them. Secret programs in indoctrination and mind control are the norm. Those that express a different opinion disappear. They would love you there. You could bash america with your disparing words, they would give you a free home and rent etc. However you would have zero freedoms and don't expect to be using the interent like your used to in america or even china. Also if you say one bad word about Kim jong Il you will find out what the meaning of evil bastered is from his re-patronizing enforcers.

p.s. good luck with your move to North korea. I do suggest you pack lots of food because the people are all starving there. Oh yeah, mean old evil daddy uncle sam gave them billions of dollars for food aid but they decided nuclear war heads wear more important than food.

Most definitely no. Brainwashing would take a lot of effort on Americans part, and they are too distracted with themselves to give a damn. It would take a lot of indoctrination in a isolated capacity.

Just because some people don't agree with the view of "the U.S. government is completely corrupt" doesn't mean that they haven't lived their lives seeing, breathing, and being apart of things that have formulated their opinions on the matter. Dictatorship? You need to travel some other countries. It would make you proud to be an American despite all of our shortcomings. Guess what, it's shorter (mostly) everywhere else.

For the guy who said it, television isn't indoctrination. It's pacification.

Sure the government is trying to brainwash Americans, like any other government in history.

People kind of have a responsibility to question the government, though. Americans shouldn't blame the government for their impressionable minds.

Goodness, Americans are such lemmings.

i'm sorry if the certainty offends you, Ali Babba, however the warriors in Iraq and Afghanistan are not struggling with to have us killed. The terrorists bombed us first, now we are struggling with returned. And in case you think of the warfare in Iraq is for oil, then teach photos of an American solider out drilling for oil in Iraq in the path of a gunfight. knowledgeable in U.S. soil to assist the international locations in the midsection East to combat off the Soviets. Now we are there returned to combat off the Taliban, which confident, became into knowledgeable by skill of the CIA yet for reasons began previously. you're able to no longer be Muslim yet you certainly are center eastern. meaning while you have got comparable ideals to many Muslims. in case you somewhat have self belief that Afghanistan may well be an stronger place under Taliban rule quite than the governments... nicely there is not any longer lots to assert. And previously you whinge approximately what number electorate our adult males have killed evaluate this. we don't purposely kill civilians, our accountability is to guard the civilians there and right here. and additionally, have many have the Taliban been killing previously U.S. troops arrived? Then clarify to me this, why does the Iraqi and Afgan. government enable for our troops to be there? And on occasion even deploy their very own to combat by skill of their section? Osama bin laden had made threats against usa publicly. Saddam Hussein had completed the same. of direction we had to safeguard it whilst they finished their threats. Seeing the type you're no longer even from the Iraq or Afganhistan, you haven't any longer have been given something to assert approximately how good the Taliban are. we are no longer there to coach the electorate the thank you to stay, we are only there to assist them rid their communities of the radicals who kill and torture them. attempt doing all your learn and notice what number electorate the terrorists have killed intentionally and how many electorate American squaddies have killed intentionally. confident we use drones. yet this is because of the fact, certainty be blunt, we value American lives over distant places lives. warfare is warfare. you will possibly desire to make sacrifices each now and then. i'm no longer speaking approximately in the process the warfare. i'm speaking previously the warfare even began.

how many times has george bush stood behind a podium and spoke to america .
WAS this the man most of america wanted as our leader .
ITS bad enough that people vote for the lessor of two evils and i have heard this way to often when i challenge people to explain why they voted for an idiot .
OH i did not mean bush or clinton or kerry or gore ,aaaaaI maent all of them .
To believe this war is anything but a way to build up a military so that in a few more years we can begin to control oil around the world is foolish and we will all pay the price for this .

I have to agree with you....I do think that we as Americans are egotistical and think we can never have the wool pulled over our eyes, but in fact, it is happening to us....

I only disagree with you about internet, I truly believe the only pure media we have is the Internet. It remains uncensored and without agendas. You can find every side of the story here....I hope we never lose that medium....

I think its not only possible, but its happening, the fear tactics, and the using there own views against the people IE. using the term Liberal as a "dirty" word. things like that are used to sway public opinion, and this is something Conservatives especially are using to sway opinions. Conservatives use many of the same tactics the Nazis use to gain control of Germany.

Just to be on the safe side, why don't you make yourself an aluminum foil hat? It'll help ward off those pesky alien transmissions as well as the evil government ones. Just google "foil hats". You'll find lots of kook fringe groups that know how to make them. Good luck. Gotta go. Wife's got my new roll of Reynold's wrap.

Well, I think something is. And, I think the TV was the start. Our attention spans have been wained to three to five minute intervals. We can't remember anything - internationally knowns as ''the united states of amnesia''.

Government sponsored, yes. But, there's more at work here...
