Hey, are youuuuuuuu talking to me?
I'm Irish....they were treated worse than any immigrant... before or since. It just takes a while for the stew to be ready...a long slow simmer. Bear it.

Have you ever heard the saying? If you give a mouse a cookie, he'll want a glass of milk. Of coarse you have not. It means people like you are never happy with anything. We grant you access into the great USA and all you can do is ***** about it. We provide you with housing, a job, food, welfare and still you *****. Most of the people in this country have given up something, what have you given up? What gives you the right to *****? Just what makes you so special? Tell you what why don't you enlist with the USA, and go fight the war in the Middle East, then I will respect you. Maybe others will too.

It does belong to those of us who were born here and are descendents of those who were born here too. Sure, immigrants came here to settle this land from Europe and my ancestors were in those pioneers who worked hard to make this country a great place. New immigrants come here now to take advantage of everything we and my relatives have worked to build so some Americans are ticked about it. I hope that clears the issue up for you.

Make sure you act like a legal immigrant, if you are,and distinguish yourself apart from illegals. You know like a good job, clean, speak English, don't hang out with druggies, illegals,or fill your house with illegals hiding out. Make sure to do what is legal. Also if you are here getting an education, go back and help your country after you graduate instead of staying here and complaining. Help your own country and countrymen have a brighter future!

The American psyche values self-sufficiency and nationalism, and is distrustful of anyone they perceive as foreign. There's a lot of pride and vanity caused by the riches that people experience everyday and people take for granted. Just be strong, man, don't pay any mind. And also work on making your conversational English very clear and fluent, so you put people at ease.

I try to respect everyone. Sometimes I see the immigrants looking at me like I should just vaporize or something. My grandfather and uncle homesteaded land that nobody else wanted, my husband and son have served in wars, I've paid taxes since I was 18. I take my civic duties seriously. How about you. Do you respect others.

USA does belong to Americans. You reap what you sow. We need to take care of our own before we can offer help to people who try and take advantage of us. Illegal immigrants have caused a bad taste in our mouths for immigrants who work hard to live in America because they respect how we live, work, and follow the rules.

Hate to say it, we do own this country. It's a democracy. Citizens do own it, and yea, we can be a bit pompous about it. Yeah, we're all immigrants, and some need more respect for that fact, however, on the flip side everyone has to pay their dues too.
