Good luck with finding one.. I am a horror junkie and I haven't seen a horror movie that has scared me like that in years!
There are some OK movies like I just recently saw "House Of 9" and I liked that it was worth watching.

There's a difference between a good horror movie and a scary horror movie. A good horror movie is The Excorcist, a scary horror movie is one like My Bloody Valentine, or The Original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, or even The classic Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

Well, as you can see by my avatar in my about section, you asked the right question. if you want to be really scared then watch The Ring 1 OR The original Exorcist. Also the Night of the Living dead scared me. But people have different tastes in movies. Like i love Queen of the Damned & the Lost Boys. But theyre not scary, they just kinda rocked. But there are so many gory horror movies now that all are about torture. That doesn't scare me, it makes me not want to eat dinner. The Hills Have Eyes, Hostil, Saw, Cabin Fever.....none were scary. I'm not saying they were bad, but if you want scary, you want to lean more to the older films. if the Exorcist doesn't scare you, you just dont get scared.

Some of the older horror movies offer really good scares... The Prophecy (about deformed bears in the woods was thrilling) and the orgional Nightmare on Elm Street was pretty creepy... but my all time favorite horror film is the Haunting (balck and white version) and even now when I watch it, the segment when the two women are in the bedroom while an unseen intruder bangs on the door is just classic and still scares me.

What about Freddy Kruger, Jason. Some of those movies from the 80's and Halloween, or Amityville Horror (the original one from the 70's) Psycho, Texas Chainsaw massacre (I never saw it, but heard it was okay) Helter Skelter-that's creepy.

The original Night of the Living Dead. I saw it when I was a teen and every time I closed my eyes that night those darn zombies were after me! Also liked Pumpkin Head, which most people think is stupid, but I found it rather scary - at least parts of it.
