I'm curious about what the requirements are... does a player have to have some college education, just a HS diploma, or none?

I don't think that an educational requirement for NFL players is "codified" anywhere.

But a player must to be at least two years removed from his high school graduation in order to be eligible for the draft, so that's almost a defacto requirement for a player to at least have a high school diploma....

EDIT: I mis-typed that. The requirement is THREE years removed from high school....not two. Players like Tommy Maddox and Larry Fitzgerald who left college after their second year of playing either red-shirted (Maddox) or did a post-grad year after high-school to get their grades up (Fitzgerald).

There are no educational requirements, though many young players complete secondary schooling before making a career of football. Secondary school ends at age 16.

He must have been out of high school for 3 years, not two. Players who have completed their sophomore year in college are not eligible for the NFL draft; they must have completed their junior season.
