I've had this same dream for the past 2 yrs. I'm the leader of a group of about 20 people of all ages, gender, races & ethnicities. I lead my group in breaking into people's houses to do good deeds like filling their refrigerators with food, watering plants, putting in a better piano, etc. But these dreams cause me great anxiety because we keep almost getting caught by the homeowners, and I have to keep little kids quiet so as not to give us away, or an elderly person from straying and being seen. I once had to shoo a man out of the study since he was reading a book. I don't know why I have these dreams since I'm nobody's caretaker, don't have kids, and nobody's even sick around me. Do you have any ideas?

I think you answered your own question -- "you are nobody's caretaker, don't have kids, and nobody's even sick around me."
I think you are probably a very caring person who isn't filling the great need for people like you in the world and your mind is telling you to do something about that.
When we sleep our conscience is altered and we can have more authentic thoughts so what you would typically weed-out or filter-out during the day comes-out when you sleep: fears, desires, everything.
Sleep is when the brain does it's reboot and processes all the emotions and data that we keep supressing through busy-ness (didn't want to put business, but I think that is probably your problem too).

You seem anxious in your dream. You worry about people and want the best for them. Is anyone sick around you or is anyone aging around you that you worry about?
You want to take care of these people but maybe they are really independent and you worry that they don't want to feel helpless around you which is why you are breaking into their houses. You also seem to be a selfless person and don't want the credit because that's not why you are doing it.
Maybe you are bringing a big group in because you don't feel like you will be able to handle it yourself so you need to support of the "others". Is there something major that might happen in your life that is bringing on this anxiety?
Good Luck and I hope this helps...

Leader = power control
breaking into houses = privacy invasion.
You probably have some issues about not having control in your life. You are in lack of freedom or control, and you feel like your life is being invaded in privacy. You projected the leader of the group as yourself so that you can have power and control over the others. Breaking into house and shooting kids mean that you have this anger about stuff that people in real life are giving you.
That comes from your subconscious mind. You may not notice. However, one word of anger or statement may trigger to dream like that

This is very interesting.
It reminds me of families who have family members who hoard useless items and neglect themselves. The nonhoarders are made to feel responsible, the only one who will take action of the problem, then guilty for cleaning and throwing things away. Hoarders often try to distract others from the problem and deny there is a problem. They get angry if others try to help them.
Could it be because you're taking risks at work that you feel confident is for the greater good, speeds things along, makes things go smoother, but feel/know your boss/supervisor/customers would not be pleased knowing you are not following set protocol?

I believe your dream is showing your inner desire to serve people. Being a leader of that group means you are capable to do so, may be in different places and different times. Your anxiety is because you don't like being in the limelight or may be because you are not doing it.
In short i can say that serving people is where your happiness will come from.

Could be any number of things--perhaps you're reaching a stage in your life in which you're preparing to take on new responsibility, but you doubt your ability to win your subordinate's cooperation? Maybe it's the perceived responsibility of a new circumstance--maybe you're going into high school, or perhaps college and want to excel but the fear of the unknown stops you as you try to remember everything you know you're supposed to know....
Maybe you have this dream every time you eat cucumbers. A lot of variables here.

Maybe you feel you don't contribute enough to society. Take up an activity where you can contribute like maybe helping out at a homeless shelter and the dream will go away.

that sounds like a very neat dream. :0) It sounds like you have some very strong desires to do good for others and help other people live better lives and you want to do it without any thought of reward or recognition.

Maybe it means you want to do a lot of good things for people, but you're afraid of making mistakes?
If so, don't worry about making mistakes. People will appreciate your good deeds anyway...
